I'm very mixed, when giving this review. Past Beau Jo's experiences have been great(At other locations) but this one seemed lacking. To start, the customer service was only okay, no one was rude, the only problem was the workers did not have any type of uniform(except for black shirts, and even that varied) so it was hard to tell who to talk to or who was working there. At the particular time we came, they had also ran out of a certain type of crust, they only had whole wheat crust. Normally, I don't have a problem with anything whole wheat but the crust was rather bland and had no taste. I ordered a sausage, bacon, and pepperoni pizza and it turned out decent enough, though in quite a few of the slices there was more crust then actual pizza. This would be no problem except the crust sucked. Despite these the problems, the pizza was just well pizza. (I did not try the salad bar but it was served in an old bath tub!)

Terrible!!! Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all cost! There are plenty of other great eateries in the area. We came in on a Wednesday evening around 5:00 excited for some pizza. My husband had only heard of the amazing Beau Joe's, so was excited to try it for himself. I have been to the Beau Joe's in Denver and Idaho Springs for years and absolutely LOVED it. Unfortunately, this was not the case here. The fact that we were the only people there and the wilted looking salad bar should have been our first clue that this was not a good place. After waiting almost 40 minutes for our food, our pizza was missing pepperoni and they had forgotten to even make my mom's salad. When we brought this to their attention, we received minimal apologies and/or communication about our order. I had to walk up to the side window to even talk to anyone as NO ONE was at the front. The girl who was at the side window appeared more interested in texting than making sure our order was going to be corrected. When it finally came out, it was a bowl of wilted iceburg lettuce with what looked like microwaved chicken. After another 20 minutes of waiting for our new pizza, we decided to just cancel our pizza and leave. To add insult to injury, we overheard the staff mocking us and the issues that we had brought up about our order. We were very disappointed and will never be coming back to this Beau Joe's!

Went to Beau Jo's today around 2 we were turned away stating they were observing their fall hrs which was closed between hrs of 2 and 4 so we stayed in town for an extra 2 hrs to return at 4 to find the doors locked employees inside walking around no one came to let us know if there was an issue and still at 430 the doors were still locked. Decided to leave obviously this establishment must be doing well enough to not want a party of seven along with Many others waiting to get in. Not worth the wait!!!

I've been to other locations and my experience was pretty good, however at this location I felt like I was a burden. We came in around 3 p.m. on a Friday and the girl at the counter was visibly annoyed and a little bit rude. I asked if the lunch buffet was still going on as there was no sign and she acted as if I asked the dumbest question on earth. The entire time she was just not very friendly, but whatever. We ordered the smallest pizza to share and salads. It's clear that the salad bar isn't well maintained, but we were hungry so it was fine. When our pizza arrived, it was good but the crust had pepper in it. I've been to other locations and I don't remember the dough ever having pepper in it, because of the whole crust/honey thing. Lucky for us, there wasn't but a tiny little drop of honey in the honey dispenser on our table or the ones around us, so we just didn't eat any honey with our crust. I guess it wasn't the worst dining experience that I've had, but the service could've been better and I wish that the staff actually maintained the salad bar, tables and condiment dispensers.

We normally like other Beaujos pizza but this location is awful. Everyone around us waited for over an hour for their food. The waitress got mad and slammed the food down on the people next to us. They brought 1/2 are order out after 75 minutes. When we asked where the other pizza was that we ordered, they couldn't find it and realized that they had never made it. The whole restaurant is total chaos. I wouldn't even give it one star.

Not impressed. Used to be a good pizza place. Been to all their locations over the years and every year it gets worse. Undercooked, too much dough, bland flavor. And the location in Steamboat is the worst of them all. Fast food pizza. Frozen pizza tastes better.

Not impressed with this location. Salad bar was bagged lettuce with not so fresh toppings. Mountain pie was cold on the inside. We sent it back and they brought back lukewarm on the inside bit the outside was overcooked. I don't recommend this location.

We have been coming to steamboat for many years, and Beau Jo's is one place we continue to visit every time we are here. I was disappointed to see the poor reviews. We decided to visit today for lunch hoping to have the buffet for our party of 8, kids and adults. We got there close to 2:30, past the buffet hours. The guy at the counter said they were still doing the buffet. We were in luck! It wasn't just leftovers! They cooked at least 4 or 5 fresh pizzas of different varieties while we ate. There was plenty of salad and it was fresh and met our expectations for a pizza buffet salad bar. We were very pleased with the selection and service we received today! Thank you Beau Jo's!

Faux jo's. Other than the staff, which were great, this place blows. The crust was about half as thick as traditional beau jo's pizza (even the Denver locations did a better job) not to mention it tasted terrible. And the salad bar was incredibly weak with poor lettuce and gross toppings. I'd skip the knockoff pizza joint.

Horrible, horrible, horrible! !! We were so happy to see that Steamboat has a Beau Jos. Then we went there. What a mistake!!! There were 4 of us, with four different dishes -- all on the same ticket. The first three came out ok, and relatively close together. They tasted ok. The fourth dish, chicken tenders for our 8 - year old, never arrived! We waited patiently. We approached the counter twice. We waited 20 more minutes. Nothing!! No apologies, no food. The order number was still sitting on our table, so any passing server half-looking would have been able to see there was still something outstanding in our order. Nothing doing! ! We left, in disgust! ! I don't care if they offer us a year's worth of free food vouchers. We will NEVER go.to this Beau Jos again! The only reason I'm giving this joint a 1-star rating is because Yelp won't let me give it zero stars. Zero stars is what this place deserves!

By far the worst Beau Jo's I've been to. Salad bar was lame...Iceberg lettuce and little else for fresh veggie toppings. Soup was lukewarm and bland. Pizza buffet variety was very limited. Small space, dirty restrooms, no TP in men's or women's, outdated, understaffed. Spend your money elsewhere!

Disgusting abomination of pizza. This location doesn't even have the vegan cheese like the other locations do. Seriously Colorado has the worst pizza ever. I'm sorry you guys just do.

Beau Jo's is a Colorado legacy. Ordering off the menu may be similar to other locations, but the buffet leaves a lot to be desired. All you can eat of a wimpy salad bar that costs $8.99. I can get bad looking iceberg lettuce, dried out carrots, and boiled pieces of bacon other places for much less. Beau Jo's is awesome, this salad bar is not.

It was okay. We did the buffet. A little dirty but the pizza was good and the staff was really nice.

In search of "Colorado style crust" pizza, my boyfriend and I tried Beau Jo's. Known for it's "mountain pies" we had to try it. We were driving back to town from the hot springs and decided to call in our order ahead of time. Our order was not done cooking when we arrived 15 minutes later, but it was fresh and hot out of the oven when we did get it. Payment and pickup was easy. There was a separate counter and door entrance for take out. They also gave us honey and ranch for free along with packets of chili pepper flakes and Parmesan cheese. We ordered: - 2 pounder Steamboat on honey whole wheat crust. It was an all meat pizza with pepperoni, hamburger, Italian sausage, salami, and ham topped with mozzarella cheese. - 2 pounder Cajun on honey whole wheat crust with red onions, spicy jalapeños, andouille sausage, and pepperoni topped with mild cheddar and smoked provolone cheese. Overall, both pizzas tasted so-so. Not as good as this other "Colorado style" pizza joint I've been to. Maybe it was the toppings. Maybe it was the crust. It tasted pre-made. The pizza sauce was not very flavorful either. Price: $17.99 each. Approximately 8 slices in a 2 pounder pizza.

Nice spot to grab a pizza, or pasta, downtown. The Beau Jo difference is the cheese is usually on top, keeping the ingredients underneath. I always enjoy eating here. Very casual; order at the counter and choose your own table.

We have eaten at the one in Idaho Springs before and our expectations were high. Salad bar was completely picked over, soup was ice cold (and staff didn't seem to care), garlic bread came 1 minute before pizza (And tasted like cardboard) and pizza was tasty but not piping hot out of the oven. Just not a good overall experience when you were expecting so much more!

Hate to give this place two stars as the food itself was actually great. However the tables were sticky, the lighting is poor and the music they played in the restaurant was terrible. A place that serves beer and pizza could benefit from a little rock and roll, they had the "Delilah" show on. Now if I am mourning a lost love or having a sad day that is ok but at the time I was looking to down some pizza and beer and was looking for a clean, fun environment. Again the food was great but had the table beens been clean and the music and lighting better they may have been looking at four stars... I know it was snowing but this was a Saturday night...

Beau Jo's is always a safe bet for pizza. The whole wheat thin with spinach, mushroom and tomato always is a good and this location nails it. But, not a single decent beer on tap or in the bottle. Do you understand that Steamboat Springs is located in Colorado? Also, the staff needs to taste the soup. Maybe they wanted to serve salt soup with left over salad bar. If so, trust me it sucks.

Our visit to this particular Beau Jo's was entirely disappointing. First, they call it a "bistro." When you think of a bistro, you think of a nice sit-down restaurant with good ambiance and wholesome high-quality food. Beau Jo's is simply not a bistro but especially not this location. I think they named it that in an attempt to class it up for Steamboat. It's unnecessary and misleading. This is an order at the counter right when you walk in, get your own drinks, and then sit down and wait waaaay to long for your food kind of place. The floors were littered with previous patrons dirty napkins and such. The music was way too loud for conversations. The salad bar was so pathetic! We chose Beau Jo's because my husband is vegan and at other locations in the metro Denver area they serve Daiya cheese. This location had absolutely no idea what we were talking about when we asked if they had it. Our food was ok but they left one of the toppings I requested off and it took forever for wait staff to even walk by so I could ask for the topping to add myself. I do not recommend this location. However, the locations in and around Denver are great and a must-visit for tourists and locals!

Good pizza and the lunch buffet is a great deal. Good location with easy street parking. I would definitely come back here next time I'm in Steamboat.

More like 3.5 stars (for the buffet only) During our trip to Steamboat one friend, who is originally from Denver, said we must go to this place! So as our final stop before heading back to Southern California we had the brunch buffet for $8! The buffet included a mediocre salad bar, chicken with rice and mushroom soup, and a variety of their mountain pies (cheese, Hawaiian, margherita, and pepperoni). It's called mountain pie for their thick crust. The margherita was way too garlicky but it had the honey whole wheat crust (gluten free) which made up for it. You have the option of adding honey to the crust to make it more like a dessert. Oh boy was that crust delicious! So moist and fluffy! After a small salad, bowl of soup, and two slices of pizza I was already stuffed. I wish we could have tried out their specialty pizzas, there were so many to choose from! But I guess it's an incentive for me to make another trip back =)

Having been a LONG time patron of the Idaho Springs location (really, since 1981), thought I'd give the Steamboat version a try. Certainly not the character of the original, and with a very green staff, they still held their own. Although expensive (they always have been), the dense (pies are measured in pounds) delights are best served hot and with honey for swirling the crust in. Hard to go wrong on toppings, we went for a cheese for the kiddos and did a semi-veggie version for the adults. Both solid choices, with only very few slices left-over. All good with Steamboat Beau Jo's.

Love their pizza but watch out they close at 9:00 PM on a Friday night. We had a late breakfast, late lunch and thought we could have a late dinner at Beau Jo's. Shocked that during Xmas and New Years week they didn't stay open later.

This is a review by a vegetarian I swear I intended to buy the two-pounder mountain pie with kalamata olives and split it between lunch and dinner. But as I was eye balling the menu the friendly man behind the counter said, "Our buffet is still going on if you're interested in that" Oh my. He just offered endless pizza to a veggie glutton who just finished a 5 hour hike and had not binged in weeks. One hour, 6 plates, (plus a salad during a stale pizza change over), the battle was over and all parties lost. I think I drank a gallon of water that night during digestion. Oh, I don't think Colorado style really does it for me but it's good enough.

No-frills, family-friendly pizza joint right on the main drag. We got both thick and thin crust pizzas and they were tasty. One nice touch was the option for whole wheat crust for both styles of pizza. The beer selection was satisfactory but could be better (especially because of the multitude of local beers). The wine options (for about $5/glass) were reasonable and tasty (the Chianti hit the spot). We got there too late to try the salad bar but our two small pizzas were plenty of food for us 3 tuckered out ski bums.

Delicious wheat crust pizza with Stella Artois on tap? What more could you ask for? The Lil Italy specialty pizza is to die for, and extra cheese was included for free. The girl who took our order was super friendly and the rest of the staff was as well. We will return again and again!

Walking down the main strip in Steamboat, I had briefly paused over a seemingly nonchalant menu in an idyllic bistro window when I saw words that are and will always be sweet, delicate music to my ears - or, eyes. Those words are: "GLUTEN FREE PIZZA" Unable to resist the siren song, I redirected my party and in we went. While the ambiance at Beau Jo's was neither classy nor gourmet, that most rare and sacred of dishes, the gluten-free pizza, is an absolute steal. For $11.99 you get a nine inch pie heaped with four scrumptious toppings, the crust is crispy, thin, and delicious. Mine was so tasty it brought tears to my gluten-free eyes. For providing me with a gluten-free experience of mountainous proportions, Beau Jo's has earned five stars and my eternal appreciation. God bless you, Beau Jo's, every one.

I never thought I'd be eating pizza for Christmas dinner, but somehow that's what happened this year while the fam was up in Steamboat - and you'll get no complaints here! It's been ages since I've had a pie from Beau Jo's (I was a frequenter of the FoCo location when I lived up north), and I was surprised that it was better than I remembered. The Steamboat location stocks mostly bottled beers and bevs, although they have Avalanche on tap. And stick with the pizza - my sis ordered a pasta dish, and I could tell just by looking at it the noodles were overdone. Cute factor? Their salad bar is served in an antique bathtub.

I had Beau Jo's for the first time about five years ago after moving to Colorado. I heard from some friends that it was the best pizza in CO but that's all I remember about it -- others' opinions. I've been meaning to go back for a while, and the opportunity finally presented itself in Steamboat Springs, CO. I didn't really appreciate this restaurant except for the fact that they offered whole wheat crust in addition to their normal white. I made my own pizza with garlic cream sauce, tomatoes, spinach, and provolone cheese, which turned out to be just good -- nothing incredibly special. The only part of the meal I really enjoyed was the last bit of crust -- y'know, the part without the toppings -- which I ate with the honey provided. If it weren't for this sweetened crust, I'd give this place two stars.

Decent prices and friendly service but the pasta was a too mushy for my liking. I had the shrimp scampi and the pasta was a little overcooked. The pizza at the next table looked good so if I go back, I'd try the pizza. You order from the counter and they bring your food out so it's not fine dining but they do have beer and wine.

For a resort town, the lunch buffet for $7.99 is a pretty good deal. All you can eat pizza and salad and a soft drink. The pizza, although a good deal, is mediocre. I'd call it a step above Pizza Hut and a step below Slopeside Grill in Steamboat.

Great pizza in downtown Steamboat. We had a party of six and we were well fed for $75. Try the honey cheese bread!

The buffet wasn't available when I visited, so I chose to have the 8" Steamboat, which was very greasy but pretty good. I noticed when I was walking in that there was a sign in the door that said they were going to be closed for a couple of days this week, which I thought was kind of weird that they would close the whole place down so if you can, I suggest calling before you go to make sure they are open. Also, I tried to go the night before I ended up there and they had closed early... so visit early. It took them 20 minutes to make two 8" pizzas even though there weren't very many people already in the restaurant when we had walked in; it's not a place to stop if you are in a hurry.
